Frequently Asked Questions

You can block a website in two ways: 1) Click the ZenBlock extension icon in your browser toolbar, then click 'Block this site'. 2) Right-click anywhere on a distracting page and select 'ZenBlock > Block this site'.

The pause screen is a calm, mindful intervention that appears when you try to visit a blocked site. Instead of a harsh error message, it asks you to take a breath and decide if you truly need to visit the site, helping to break the loop of mindless browsing.

Yes, you are always in control. On the pause screen, you can choose to 'Continue for X minutes' if you have a legitimate reason to visit. This grants temporary access before the block re-engages.

Focus sessions are strictly timed periods (e.g., 25, 45, or 60 minutes) where blocking is more rigorous. You can start a session from the extension dashboard to commit to deep work.

Schedules allow you to automate your blocking. You can set specific days and time ranges (e.g., Mon-Fri, 9 AM - 5 PM) when ZenBlock should be active automatically.

First, ensure the extension is enabled in your browser settings. Second, try refreshing the tabs you want to block. If the issue persists, check if the site is correctly added to your block list (ensure the domain matches). Finally, try restarting your browser.

Privacy & Trust: ZenBlock runs locally in your browser so you don't have to worry about your data.
